Economic Abuse within Domestic Abuse has now been legally defined. Economic Abuse most often slips in economic paralysis with no way out.
This new definition can help so many living this reality out load. For all and any – at any economic level.
Empowerment can come from hope by this new protection for the abused. Titled “Privilege No Power” affirms that anyone can lose their power in any kind of household. It goes unnoticed because everything looks good from the outside.
💯It happens to ALL income levels. Recently, I feel like I have seen more of it – or maybe its just getting out there more- women in wealthier households finding and sharing their story of being economically controlled. I call this “Privilege Without Power” Sometimes it happens in very, very sneaky small steps until one day it is consuming.

Privilege No Power
A prisoner
Of my own decisions
Smiles of love
Give way
To the aftermath
Of my truth
Corners turned
Vetting reality
One by one
Until I am
Unrecognizable
Unrecognized but believe
Trapped with a key
To create again
